We've had reports of sluggish behaviour in 12.8.2 from many users though a pattern to these issues in terms of hardware/software/OS combinations is hard to see at this stage. Members of the community are invited/encouraged to report issues with the new software releases, please add your comments below 16th October 2017 Update: GUI Sluggishness Reported In 12.8.2

Mac OS 10.11 El Capitan and macOS 10.12 Sierra are supported with Pro Tools 12.8.2. Users who are running Mac OS 10.10 Yosemite should upgrade their OS before updating to Pro Tools 12.8.2. Avid have been very clear about this but it appears to be catching some of the community unawares. The other thing to be aware of is that Pro Tools 12.8.2 doesn't support Yosemite. On the DUC Eddie Jones has posted this direct link to the updated Eucon 3.7 installer. The updated installer is still v3.7, but Avid have confirmed to us that the 3.7 installer available in our My Avid Master Accounts is the fixed version. But note that the Eucon 3.7 installers do not have an updated version number.

Eucon 3.7 Installer Now UpdatedĪvid has now informed us that the Eucon 3,7 installers available in your Avid Master Accounts are the new installers that will install correctly without the need to do a clean install referred to above. Note that a problem with the original installer for 3.7 (which required a clean install) was identified and a fixed installer was posted 10/19. Then later they have posted this on the DUC. You should not see libEuCon2.dylib or libEuConDLL.dylibIf you do, delete them, then reinstall. We are working on the new installer. You can do this in the Finder by going to the Go menu and choosing Go To Folder… and type in /usr/local/lib. If this doesn't work you can manually delete the offending files after uninstalling. The workaround until we generate a new installer is to simply uninstall 3.7(or3.6) and reinstall it. We found the issue and it's not to do with the software but the installer. On another post on the DUC Eddie Jones from Avid says. A new installer is in the works to solve this. Due to problems reported after installing 3.7 over previous versions, we are recommending that users uninstall any previous version (Applications/Euphonix on Mac, Control Panels\Programs and Features on Windows) then run the 3.7 installer.

We've had reports from a reliable source that the Eucon 3.7 installer for Mac isn't cleanly overwriting old files and is causing crashes, we're told Avid are aware and are addressing the issue.Īvid has also posted a Technical Alert on the DUC with regard to this issue.
